Phillips, T. Woolacott, J. Pitson 20-17 LIBERTY TROPHY. "It Beggars Belief." Derek gave an outstanding performance during the recent trials for the Liberty Trophy team and, yet again, he has been overlooked for team selection - whilst players who gave a lesser performance got in ahead of him. Our club is of the view that there is something seriously amiss in the selection process. "It beggars belief that a bowler of his talent has been overlooked again by the Liberty selectors. and yet players who did not have such a good trial or even turn up got in the squad before him." "Whatever Derrick had to do, he did, and he was on fire," said Warren It seems to be the case that it's who you know, rather than what you do, that settles the selection of players.
